MATCH KING Kinetic Type

These are the close up images of a kinetic type video. The idea was to create a piece of typography that had a live quality to it, and was somehow interactive and representative. 

​

The concept for this kinetic type was based on the fragility of things; how something beautiful and intricate can be turned to ashes with a small flame. Such aspect of life is always more evident during times of war, and in this particular case, the matches were used to represent a person, Ivar Kreuger, a Swedish civil engineer and entrepreneur who built a match and financial empire between WWI and WWII, earning the nickname

"Match King".

The matches were aligned to form his signature. Much like his match empire, the video shows his signature go up in flames.
