UDESIGN 8
This was an identity proposal for the 8th edition of the international art, architecture and design conference held in Monterrey, Mexico.
The concept for this identity was based on the idea of having a special ability for seeing and understanding more of the world through art and design mediums. Named Occult to reference all that is otherwise hidden to people who lack the "artistic" or creative eye.
To represent the hidden aspect of the concept, the red over blue mechanism was used. It consists of layering two images, one blue and one red, and using a red film to absorb the red image on top and reveal the blue on on the bottom. The effect also served as a means to give the design some duality and hence use the red and blue to print in duotone.
The reach of the project included poster design, entry bracelet, conference program, staff, speaker and standee badges, and a gift bag/kit with essentials: pen, notepad and pin.
All illustrations and patterns were done by hand.
